In 1951 George Jorgensen, an American man of 26, left for Denmark and returned a year later as the first world-famous transsexual, Christine Jorgensen. Jorgensen, who died in 1989, told her life story in her own personable style. Available for the first time in 20 years, the book includes 20 photos from Jorgensen's private collection.
