Denmark Government
Internet, Governance and Democracy: Democratic Transitions in Asia and Denmark The Internet and other modern information and communication technologies (ICT) challenge existing political thinking, systems, and processes all over the world. Whether or not they will lead to more transparency in policy-making and governance--or enhance democratic participation and empowerment--they have certainly provided new opportunities for politicians, governments, and civil society. Asia and Denmark differ widely but, in both cases, the Internet acts as a frontrunner of globalization and forces policy-makers, governments, and civil society alike to consider how to use the Internet. This book comprises the proceedings of a workshop that for the first time brought together leading specialists form Asia and Denmark who presented their latest research on these issues.
The Elusive Prince of Denmark: Structural Adjustment and the Crisis of Governance in Africa, Research Report No. 104 There has recently emerged a growing concern among scholars and policy makers to elaborate a connection be-tween structural adjustment and governance in the Third World, due to a desire for market-driven economic reform in the adjusting countries. Governance is presented as the missing link for these economic reforms. This report challenges the intellectual premises of the governance project of the Bretton Woods twins in Africa. It argues that in the way in which it has been articulated, the World Bank/IMF governance reform agenda can hardly be expected to lay an enduring basis for a system of democratic governance in Africa. Nor can it be expected to create a framework for non-repressive economic reforms.
Politics of Denmark - Politics of Denmark takes place in a framework of a parliamentary representative democratic constitutional monarchy, whereby the prime minister is the head of government, and of a pluriform multi-party system. Executive power is exercised by the government, with the prime minister acting as the first among equals (primus inter pares). Flensburg government - The Flensburg government refers to the short-lived administration that attempted to rule Germany in May 1945 following the suicides of Adolf Hitler and Joseph Goebbels and the Fall of Berlin. Led by Hitler's designated successor, Grand Admiral Karl Dönitz, the administration was referred to as the Flensburg government as Flensburg, near the border with Denmark, was the headquarters of Dönitz by this time, and because the area the government controlled was limited to the vicinity of the town by the encroaching Allied armies. Prime Minister of Denmark - The Prime Minister of Denmark (Danish: Statsminister) is the head of government in Danish politics. He is the leader of a political coalition in the Danish parliament (the Folketing) and the leader of the Danish cabinet. List of Prime Ministers of Denmark - This is a list over the heads of government in Denmark since 1848. The constitutional monarchy was introduced in 1849.
